Safety technology of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles

with the continuous increase of the corresponding index value of the dial maintained and instigated by Chinese vehicles, the contradiction of fuel supply and urban environmental pollution caused by vehicle exhaust are becoming increasingly prominent. Actively developing natural gas vehicles is a powerful measure to solve these problems. Among them, the development of compressed natural gas (CNG) automotive technology is the most practical and feasible. CNG Vehicle Technology in many developed countries in the world has been widely promoted and applied, and many advantages of CNG vehicles over fuel vehicles have been confirmed. Sichuan Province is a major producer of natural gas, and the development of CNG vehicles has broad prospects. As early as 1986, the Sichuan Provincial People's government issued the notice of replacing oil with gas in the CFF (1986) No. 255 document, and in 1999, the provincial government issued the CFF (1999) No. 2 document, which planned the development of CNG Automotive Technology in our province and formulated relevant preferential policies

however, compressed natural gas (CNG) has a wide ignition range and slow diffusion in a closed environment. It is corrosive to the storage system and has the particularity of high-pressure storage, which makes it easier to form explosive mixture and has great potential danger. In the past, there have been many explosion accidents of high-pressure natural gas storage cylinders in our province. The reasons for the accidents are various, including the quality problems of gas cylinders, the poor quality of gas cylinders, such as excessive H2S content or high water content, as well as the overall situation, such as excessive use pressure. Although there were no casualties in several accidents, they had a negative impact on the promotion and development of CNG technology. Therefore, the safety technology of CNG vehicles is the primary issue in the development of natural gas vehicles. It has far-reaching significance for maintaining personal and property safety and correctly guiding the rapid development and promotion of CNG vehicles

2. Safety technical problems of natural gas

the main component of natural gas is methane CH4, which is colorless and odorless. It is gaseous under normal temperature and pressure and lighter than air. The progress of flammable plastic granulator technology is closely related to the development of the whole national economy. With a boiling point of - 161 ℃ (1atm), its combustible mixture has a wide ignition range, high calorific value and spontaneous combustion temperature, and a small diffusion system in a closed environment. Therefore, the leaked natural gas is easy to form a combustible mixture, which is easy to explode and burn in case of open fire

the natural gas processed without subsidy after slope retreat contains a small amount of hydrogen sulfide H2S, which has odor and toxicity. In addition, it also contains running water. These sulfur and water will cause corrosion to the compressed natural gas device, cause corrosion of various valves and pipeline connections, and affect the tightness. Even make the function of the pressure reducer invalid, and the structural layout of the fuel supply system unreasonable, which eventually leads to internal and external leakage and becomes an unsafe source of fire or explosion. Therefore, the fuel natural gas for compressed natural gas vehicles must be fully desulfurized and dehydrated to ensure that the gas quality meets the requirements

g gas station safety technical problems

cng gas station is the same as gas station. Once there is a problem, the consequences are unimaginable, so the construction of CNG gas station should pay attention to the following points:

1) the station building adopts open or semi open, and if the ventilation condition is poor, forced ventilation should be adopted

2) all motors and electrical appliances are explosion-proof

3) combustible gas alarm device shall be installed at the dead corner where gas accumulation is easy to form

4) set up sufficient effective fire-fighting equipment according to the fire-fighting requirements
